Are you still Anderson's Bakery & Catering?

Yes--and no.

Anderson's Bakery & Catering remains our original company.  Embers & Spice is the evolution of our work into a focused, fire-led experience model.

As our menus and approach changed, we found the old name no longer reflected how we design, execute, or support events.  Embers & Spice allows us to clearly present our live-fire experiences while maintaining the same team, standards, and commitment to quaility our clients and partners know.

For clients and planners, the experience is simpler, more intentional, and more clearly guided.

Do you travel?

Yes.  Travel fees are applied when events take place outside our standard service area.  Because our experiences involve specialized equipment, fire setups, and extended load-in and load-out times, travel is priced intentionally to protect execution quality and team readiness.

Travel fees are quoted clearly in advance and reflect distance, time, and logistics--not just mileage.  Our goal is to arrive prepared, unhurried, and fully focused on your event.

Do you do tastings?

We don't offer traditional tastings upfront.  Our experiences are designed around fire formats, timing, atmosphere, and guest flow rather than individual dishes, so tasting in isolation isn't always representative of the final event.

Once we've aligned on the right experience and direction, we may offer a chef confirmation or experience preview when it adds real value--typically as a final step to confirm details rather than to choose a menu.  Our role is to guide the process thoughtfully, so clients aren't guessing at decisions.

Chef Confirmation and Experience Previews are held by invitation only in our exclusive Ember Garden, where fire, flavor, and flow begin.

What if my event is entirely indoors?

An indoor event does not break Embers & Spice.  It simply changes which fire formats are appropriate and how fire shows up.  Fire does not have to be visible to be present.

  • Type A--indoor with adjacent outdoor access (Courtyards, patios, loading docks, exterior prep zones).  Fire happens outside, service flows inside.

  • Type B--fully indoor, commercial venue (Ballroom, museums, lofts with restrictions). Restraint signals professionalism.  Fire must be prep-led, finish focused, controlled.  invisible to guests.

  • Type C--Private Indoor Space (Homes, Historic homes).  Fire must be minimal, protective, highly intentional

Best Fit:

  • Hearth & Flame

  • Levant Fire Table

  • Arroz & Fire

  • Tacos al Fuego

  • Sweet Collective

  • Embers & Ice
